Description

We are a design and renovate company that focuses on interior renovations, especially kitchens, bathrooms and modifying floor layouts. Our focus is to improve people’s lives by improving their homes, and to create a renovation experience from start to finish that is as painless as possible. We are a team of Designers, Project Managers, and Carpenters providing a full-service renovation experience. We are looking to hire an experienced Designer who has relevant residential construction experience and who is looking to grow with a company. The ideal candidate must have an appetite for challenge. This is an environment where we encourage each other daily to find new and innovative ways to succeed. Must be organized, detail-orientated, able to work independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with clients to determine design requirements, budget, present design concepts, and manage design change orders
  • Collaborate with clients and use design software to create kitchen, bath or layout modification designs
  • Develop functional design plans and layouts, elevations and detailed drawings
  • Advise and assist with selection of various materials, colours and finishes such as cabinets, tiles, counters, fixtures, lighting, flooring and other items
  • Specify materials, such as lighting, wall finishes, flooring, and plumbing fixtures
  • Place orders for cabinetry and other materials
  • Visit site during and after the project is complete to ensure that the client is satisfied

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years in a design role
  • Diploma or degree in kitchen and bath design or interior design is preferred
  • Sales experience is an asset
  • Strong design skills
  • Ability to read construction drawings, plans and blueprints
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Familiarity with local building codes and their implications for design would be considered an asset
  • Proficiency with 2020 Design Software, AutoCAD or Chief Architect, Microsoft Suite, and Google Sheets
  • A portfolio of past work
