We are a design and renovate company that focuses on interior renovations, especially kitchens, bathrooms and modifying floor layouts. Our focus is to improve people’s lives by improving their homes, and to create a renovation experience from start to finish that is as painless as possible. We are a team of Designers, Project Managers, and Carpenters providing a full-service renovation experience. We are looking to hire an experienced Architectural Technologist who has relevant residential construction experience. The ideal candidate has a BCIN with an appetite for challenge. This is an environment where we challenge each other daily to find new and innovative ways to succeed. Must be organized, detail-orientated, able to work independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Experience taking site measures for the purpose of residential construction renovations
  • Assist with the development and conception of designs including product research and resolving technical and design issues
  • Develop and prepare ‘as built’ drawings and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculation, specification sheets and other data
  • Complete construction drawings and produce working drawings sets
  • Prepare and submit building permit applications
  • Check and verify design drawing to conform to specification and design data
  • Manages project risk by thoroughly estimating the scope, specifications, site conditions, etc.
  • Prepare and administer construction documents consisting of: plans, elevations & details, lighting, electrical, materials, products and finishes, specifications and layouts, building permit drawings 
  • Create cabinetry orders ensuring proper fit for all appliances and accessories
  • Prepare construction specifications, costs and material estimates

Type of Drafting: Residential design drawings, presentation drawings, detailed drafting, computer-aided design (CAD)

Requirements

  • Building Code Identification Number (BCIN)
  • Minimum of 3 years of drafting experience
  • Experience in the residential construction industry
  • Experience with Chief Architect, Revit/CAD and other industry software, 2020 and/or SketchUp
  • Experience with cabinetry manufacturing and ordering would be considered an asset
  • Detailed oriented and organized
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong prioritization skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Sheets
