Description
We are a design and renovate company that focuses on interior renovations, especially kitchens, bathrooms and modifying floor layouts. Our focus is to improve people’s lives by improving their homes, and to create a renovation experience from start to finish that is as painless as possible. We are a team of Designers, Project Managers, and Carpenters providing a full-service renovation experience. We are looking to hire an experienced Architectural Technologist who has relevant residential construction experience. The ideal candidate has a BCIN with an appetite for challenge. This is an environment where we challenge each other daily to find new and innovative ways to succeed. Must be organized, detail-orientated, able to work independently and in a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Experience taking site measures for the purpose of residential construction renovations
- Assist with the development and conception of designs including product research and resolving technical and design issues
- Develop and prepare ‘as built’ drawings and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculation, specification sheets and other data
- Complete construction drawings and produce working drawings sets
- Prepare and submit building permit applications
- Check and verify design drawing to conform to specification and design data
- Manages project risk by thoroughly estimating the scope, specifications, site conditions, etc.
- Prepare and administer construction documents consisting of: plans, elevations & details, lighting, electrical, materials, products and finishes, specifications and layouts, building permit drawings
- Create cabinetry orders ensuring proper fit for all appliances and accessories
- Prepare construction specifications, costs and material estimates
Type of Drafting: Residential design drawings, presentation drawings, detailed drafting, computer-aided design (CAD)
Requirements
- Building Code Identification Number (BCIN)
- Minimum of 3 years of drafting experience
- Experience in the residential construction industry
- Experience with Chief Architect, Revit/CAD and other industry software, 2020 and/or SketchUp
- Experience with cabinetry manufacturing and ordering would be considered an asset
- Detailed oriented and organized
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Able to work under pressure
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong prioritization skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Sheets
